Correct the effects of aging

Facial filler treatment

Facial fillers are products used to provide volume to the face or correct the effects of aging. These products are biocompatible materials used to correct wrinkles and furrows or to add volume to certain areas of the face, such as the lips, achieving greater facial harmony and restoring lost volume.

These fillers help to reduce nasolabial folds, which are not completely eliminated by lifting in many patients. Today, the most commonly used products are hyaluronic acid and calcium hydroxylapatite. More and more people are encouraged to improve their physical appearance thanks to new aesthetic treatments with facial fillers, which do not require surgery or anesthesia.

Over time, the fatty tissues that fill facial areas, such as the cheekbones, cheeks, and mandibular border, are reabsorbed and sag, resulting in a “gaunt” appearance and making the patient look constantly tired.

With the loss of natural filling tissues in the face, the first surpluses of skin appear and the tissues descend, causing furrows and a lack of fullness in the skin. The suborbital groove, which starts from the inner corner of the eye and crosses the cheek, splitting it in half, then becomes marked. This groove is due to the reabsorption of soft tissues at the level of the cheekbones and the repositioning of suborbital ocular fat.

The nasolabial fold appears due to the disappearance of the filling tissue of the cheekbones as well as the cheeks. The fall of these tissues marks the appearance of the nasolabial fold. Finally, the marionette lines, which start from the corners of the mouth and fall vertically towards the lower edge of the chin and give a sad appearance to the perioral region.

Facial fillers can first be performed on the prominences that have lost their projection (cheekbones and mandibular border and oval of the face) and, after assessing the correction obtained in this way by re-projecting the reliefs of the face, the residual depressions are filled in the three types of furrows described: cheek furrow, nasolabial fold and marionette lines.

Regardless of or at the same time as correcting the depressions and lack of projection of the face, facial fillers enhance the labial volume or simply treat the labial border to give it more projection and definition.

Facial fillers are of variable duration. Within the synthetic materials of different reabsorption duration, there are materials such as hyaluronic acid that remains for 6-12 months and materials such as Radiesse (calcium hydroxylapatite) that lasts more than a year, among others.
PROCEDURE

All fillings are performed with local anesthesia. It is a minimally invasive technique that allows the patient to return to social and work life the next day.
In the case of facial fillers, with only a few slight pinches we can achieve surprising results. A very fine needle is used to inject the substances into the areas to be treated.

The results are not immediate but gradual, depending on the desired result, one or more injections will be needed, once the desired appearance is achieved the treatment lasts between six months to two years depending on the substance used.

Facial fillers are those materials that can be introduced into the body by injection. According to their origin, they are classified into biological (of organic origin) and non-biological (of synthetic origin) and according to their duration in: reabsorbable and non-reabsorbable. At Naturae we only use reabsorbable filling substances.

Among the best known and most used facial fillers are those that contain hyaluronic acid. This acid is a polysaccharide that is present in human connective tissues including the skin, which is a main elastic component of it, which contains water (99.5%), and which plays an important role in the formation of stable collagen and in the organization of the extracellular matrix.

  • It is a natural, biodegradable and reabsorbable product.
  • It does not require topical anesthesia.
  • It cannot be used in people allergic to chicken and egg proteins.
  • The implant integrates into the tissues in a natural way, allowing oxygen and nutrients to pass through the skin.
  • It allows to maintain adequate hydration of the skin and a turgidity characteristic of youth.
  • It allows to fill glabellar lines, forehead lines, scars and depressions, upper lip lines, periorbital line, oral commissures and vermilion border.
  • Its injection can produce a mild redness, swelling, discoloration and temporary pain, which disappear in 48 hours. Very occasionally several touch-ups are needed.
  • Its duration depends on the amount of product injected and the technique. The speed of reabsorption depends on the type of life, skin type and environmental conditions.
  • A treatment is usually performed every six months.
With the use of this facial filling technique it is possible to experience, quickly, painlessly and safely, a positive change, significantly improving social-labor and relationship life.
