Radiesse Treatment
With Radiesse, we achieve a facial rejuvenation effect due to a dual lifting effect:
– Immediate effect thanks to the elastic carrier gel
– Lasting effect thanks to the stimulation of the skin’s own collagen.
Calcium hydroxylapatite fillers are often called Radiesse fillers because this is the only brand that sells it. Therefore, in the following text, we will refer to it in one way or another interchangeably.
It is a comfortable and simple treatment to perform, minimally invasive, and is performed with local anesthesia.
It can be performed with a needle or cannula, which reduces the number of punctures, since we cover more area to be treated with a single injection point.
There are a number of additional advantages to the implantation of Radiesse fillers (Calcium hydroxylapatite) in addition to the purely aesthetic ones referring to the filling itself:
- A healthy, natural, and youthful appearance is achieved with just one treatment, although touch-ups can be performed.
- The results are immediate and lasting, generally more lasting than any other non-permanent filler. The infiltration of Radiesse stimulates the production of collagen naturally, which effectively combats sagging skin.
Radiesse is composed of synthetic macroparticles of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) suspended in a carboxymethylcellulose carrier gel. It is one of the safest fillers, since, as many people know, it is a component that is present in our body, which is also biocompatible and completely degradable. In general, the maximum effect is achieved between the 1st and 6th month after treatment because it induces collagen stimulation.
Radiesse:
– It does not contain components of animal or human origin.
– It is ready to use and its application is simple.
– It can be injected with a fine needle, or with a cannula, which reduces injection trauma and downtime.
– Once injected into the skin, the homogeneous, smooth, and spherical CaHA particles form a matrix that allows maximum infiltration of the natural tissue itself.
– CaHA particles are composed of phosphorus and calcium ions that occur naturally in human tissue.

The effect of Radiesse is generally seen in most patients, without forgetting that in medicine there are individual variations due to age, skin type, lifestyle, and the muscular activity of each patient.
In general, a single session is sufficient, although sometimes it may be necessary to carry out some revisions to achieve the desired final results.

Radiesse™ filler (formerly known as Radiance™ aesthetic filler) is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to mark soft tissue for the tracking and treatment of tumors, to treat vocal cord insufficiencies, and to correct maxillofacial (oral) defects. In December 2006, Radiesse™ received FDA approval in the United States for use in soft tissue facial augmentation, including the treatment of wrinkles, folds, chin dimples, nasolabial folds, and facial lipoatrophy associated with HIV (fat loss in the face).

As in any medical procedure, despite the fact that the treatment has been shown to be safe and has very few side effects, there are some risks associated with Radiesse that must be taken into account before undergoing the treatment, and our medical staff will inform you of everything personally.
